Furry Fall Festival

Join us for an upcoming festival hosted by the Young-Williams Animal Center. Furry Fall Festival will give animal lovers the opportunity to learn about pet-related resources around Knoxville, including adoption specials and discount coupons available at the center.

The Furry Fall Festival will be held Sunday, November 4, 12 -4 p.m. Sunday at the center at 3201 Division St. All activities are free and open to the public, and pets are invited, too.

Activities will include live music from K-Town Music, food trucks, pet microchipping and microchip registration ($10); rabies vaccinations by the Knox County Health Department ($10); information about the center’s adoption program; and a kid zone with face painting and crafts.

Representatives from local animal rescue organizations will be present, and some will have adoptable animals on site.

Volunteer Expo

Volunteer East TN is hosting their annual Volunteer Expo at West Town Mall! HALT will be there along with dozens of area organizations on hand to share information about their programs and volunteer needs. It’s a great way to visit with several different non-profits in one location to find your perfect fit! Stop by our booth to learn more about HALT, volunteering and our great dogs looking for their forever homes!

Adoption Event – PetSmart

Come by to meet our dogs participating in the fall class. They are looking for their forever homes! They will be halfway through the class at this point, so they’ll be able to show off some of their new skills. All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and will have basic training at the end of their 4-week course. We are accepting applications. All dogs will be able to go to their new homes October 5th.

Pierre is a male mix about 1-2 years and 30 lbs. He’s a handsome fella with a stately walk and stunning blue eye. He seems eager to learn and very attentive.

Holly is an active female mix approximately a year old and 30 lbs. She’s a cheerful girl that loves to play.

Oscar is a male Golden mix. He is about 2-3 years old and 35 lbs. He is a friendly, happy guy. (adoption pending)

George is a male rat terrier mix, around 2 years old and 12 lbs. He can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. Once he does, he loves giving kisses.

Lena is a brindle female mix. She is approximately a year old and 28 lbs. She’s a spunky girl that’s eager to please.

Adoption Event – Meadow View Nursery

Join us at beautiful Meadow View Nursery and Garden Center to meet our dogs participating in the fall class. They are looking for their forever homes! They will be through their first couple weeks of class, so they’ll be able to show off some of their new skills. All dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and will have basic training at the end of their 4-week course. We are accepting applications. All dogs will be able to go to their new homes October 5th.

Adoption Event – CitiFid-O

Join us for our first adoption event of the fall season at CitiFid-O! This will be our Fab 5’s first outing before starting classes on 09/10. Come by to meet George, Holly, Lena, Oscar, and Pierre that are looking for their forever homes. We’re starting to learn their personalities and will be excited to spend more time with them working on socialization. 

All dogs have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, on heartworm preventative, and will be working on basic obedience training with their teen handlers. Applications are being accepted now and they will be ready to go to their new homes after classes finish October 5th.

Fido Fest to support Young-Williams

Saturday, May 19th we will be at Fido Fest 2018! This 2nd annual event is being hosted by The Pinnacle at Turkey Creek. There will be lots of vendors, groups, food, games, and fun. The event will be set up near Cru Bistro.

They’ve partnered with our friends at Young Williams Animal Center and local retailers to create an afternoon that celebrates our four-legged friends. Bring the whole family to enjoy a pet photo booth, kids’ activities, food trucks, local vendors and live entertainment! Stay tuned for a full list of vendors, sponsors and giveaways. Tickets are $5 and proceeds go to support Young-Williams. Kids under 10 years old are free!  All animal lovers and four-legged friends are welcome. Help us celebrate being a pet-friendly shopping center at the Pinnacle!

There will also be lots of fun, food, games, prizes, and other rescues on hand for this family-friendly event. They’ll have tours of their facility and you can learn about a day in the life working at a veterinary clinic.
