HALT Spring 2023 Class of dogs

Adoption Event #1: Meadow View Greenhouse

By |

Miss Dolly is friendly, loves a good belly rub, and very positive. She is approximately 2 years, 25 lbs, beagle/heeler mix.

Welcome Spring! Our first event will be at the beautiful Meadow View Greenhouse and Garden Center. We invite you out to meet our new “Fab 5” that will be participating in class this session. They are looking for their furever homes! They will be starting classes on March 27th so their skills will be minimal to start.

This session we have Clooney, Dolly, Ginger, Heugan (Heugh), and Swift.

All dogs are medically screened, fully vaccinated, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and will have beginner basic obedience training at the end of their 4-week course.

We are accepting applications and will work on home visits while classes are going on. All dogs will be able to go to their new homes on Friday, April 21st  after graduations.

All breeds and ages are the best guess from our Dog Selection Committee and Veterinarian.

Spring 2023 Class Session

By | News

We have chosen the “Fab Five” for the spring session, and they have their photo shoot early this week! We partnered with Young-Williams Animal Center this session.

They are with our vet, Dr. John Shaw at Ideal Veterinary Hospital getting the last of their medical needs taken care of. They will move to PetSafe later next week to get ready for classes to start.

Our first adoption event is Sunday, March 26th, and classes start that week! If you are looking for a new four-legged friend, we will be accepting Applications once we post photos. If you are interested in volunteering, check out our Volunteer page to learn more.

Look for pictures this week and check out our events page for upcoming adoption events and other fun stuff!

Gift Wrapping Fundraiser

We can wrap the strange shapes too!

It’s never to early to get in the spirit of the holidays! HALT’s elves will be back at Mast General Store ready to lend a helping hand this holiday season!

We will be available to wrap gifts on December 16th, 17th, and 18th. We can wrap your purchases from Mast, or you can bring in a gift from somewhere else. We’ll have a wide variety of wrapping papers that you can choose from.
This is one of our largest fundraisers annually, and we look forward to sharing some holiday spirit with you! Donations for gift wrapping are appreciated and will support future HALT classes.

Update on Spring 2022 Class

By | Fundraiser, News, Photo Gallery

We are happy to share that Tino, Livvie, Millie, Marigold and Franklin have all been adopted! They graduated May 5th, and most went to their new homes within a couple of days. We have heard great things about them settling in and seeing cute pictures.

It took us a little longer to find the right fit for Franklin. We always want to be sure that once they graduate they find their forever home (as best we can) as we don’t want them to be bounced back. We were patient, and his perfect fit found him. He’s making himself at home and loving life. Thanks to all of you that spent the extra time sharing his posts and information to help make that happen.

We had a great session with several new fundraising events to help support the program. We had movie night hosted by our friends at Central Cinema,  a raffle with items donated by Elst Brewery, Mast General Store, K9 Center of East TN, The Bark, and Central Cinema plus fundraiser hosted by Elst Brewery and Steamboat Subs, and a local garden club plant sale.

All of these businesses donated a portion of sales during the event/day to H.A.L.T. We greatly appreciate these businesses for their support and those that came out to support HALT at these businesses!! We look forward to partnering with these and other local businesses in the future.

Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors and supporters for helping us do what we love and helping to make a difference in the lives of these kids and dogs in the program.
