He loves to play! His favorite activity is tossing squeaky toys high in the air and chasing after them with pure joy.
He has a big personality! This is one dog who will fill your life with happiness and fun. He’s the perfect blend of athletic and affectionate.

Not ready to commit to an adoption? We sure would like to at least get Lyles into a foster home and out of the boarding facility!
- All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (including Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza), micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
- Each dog graduates from the program with beginner basic obedience training taught by their teen trainers
- Interested adopters will go through an application, home visit, and overnight visit process to be considered
- Lastly, due to our home visit policy, H.A.L.T. limits our adoptions to residents of Knoxville and the immediate surrounding area.
How To Adopt
- Potential adopters submit an application, as a first step. The application review includes your veterinary and personal reference checks and takes up to a week to complete.
- Once an adoption application is approved, H.A.L.T. representatives schedule a home visit to ensure that the dog you’ve selected will do well in your home.
- If there is another dog in the home, a separate meet and greet is scheduled outside of the home to see how the dogs do together on neutral territory before doing the home visit.
- During the home visit, we observe the H.A.L.T. dog’s reaction to other pets and family members in the home, their comfort level exploring the home. check the security of a fence if applicable, and look for any areas that might present a safety concern.
- If the home visit goes well, a separate overnight visit will be scheduled to see how the dog does in the new environment.
- Upon approval of an application, successful home visit, and overnight visit, we complete our process with an adoption contract.
- Finally, the dogs go to their new homes after the completion of the 4-week H.A.L.T. class session.
